Inspirational Speeches

Are you looking for that special Inspirational Speech?

Have you searched for that elusive and hard to find narrative pitch that spells the difference between success and failure?

Are you dreading that imminent day when 250 guests, the bride and the groom expect you to stand before the masses and deliver an outstanding speech that inspires and ignites the room with lavish and rapturous applause?

We’ve all been there.

Everybody has experienced the impending dread and fear that accompanies the activity of public speaking.

The fact is Inspirational Speeches are very hard to find, especially when you are charged with putting pen to paper and writing the darn thing yourself.

Inspirational Speeches have to be perfect if not in the writing then certainly in the delivery and timing. Even trained and experienced Performers and Actors find it hard when delivering a public performance so it’s no mystery why the first time speaker experiences those feelings of nerves and fear.

However, Speeches can easily be broken down and put into an organized process that allows the narrator or speaker to write and deliver in a much more professional manner.

There are some basic rules that when followed will prepare even the meekest of bridegrooms for the special day and their delivery will be a never forgotten highlight of the special day.

  1. Probably the most important part in preparing a speech is to base it on common ground that everyone can associate with. Your bride and groom are the best people to probe about the general background of the wedding party as they will probably be related to most of the congregation. You don’t want to deliver a speech heavily laced with political innuendos if no body understands the humor.
  2. Try to keep the speech as clean as possible as you’re less likely to offend anyone with a clean delivery. It’s alright to include the odd ‘alternative’ joke but try to be aware that there may be young children in the room and any bad language will spoil the mood and perhaps the day.
  3. Putting an inspirational speech together is much easier if you can draw upon experiences that are real and have happened. Reminiscing in this way adds a certain quality to the narration and helps people feel the experience.
  4. Practice, practice and practice again until you are comfortable with your speech and you feel that you have everything polished. The more comfortable you are with the material your delivering the better your delivery.
  5. Lastly make sure you have fun and enjoy your big moment. People will enjoy your speech so much more if you enjoy delivering the speech. Relax and let it flow……..you’ve earned it.

Take a look at some of the speeches we’ve put together and let your creative juices flow.

Take inspiration from these inspirational speeches.

Inspirational Pictures

A picture can speak a thousand words; inspirational pictures can inspire a thousand thoughts.

For 100’s of years mankind has been documenting every leg of their private journey through life in the form of pictures and photographs. We are a species who is obsessed with our own lives and the images that our lives portray.

From the moment we are born our parents are inspired to create daily logs of our early years in the form of inspirational pictures taken at absurd moments of our babyhood; pictures that are collected in giant chests and abandoned until the next family gathering whereby they are once again cooed over by bias family members.

Inspirational pictures come in a thousand different disguises, each uniquely special to the observer. The picture can be a Wedding a Christening or even a graduation, the point is the inspiration comes from the vision that is presented to the individual. No two pictures are ever alike and one picture taken at one moment can be very different the next.

My favorite inspirational picture comes from the ……………………… Although I am biased this picture invokes powerful feelings and has a special place on my study wall. My inspiration lies in the way the picture lifts my spirit irrespective of when I look at it and regardless of my mood. The picture gives hope and positive thoughts as it paints a better world with thousands of possibilities.

We hope you take inspiration from the pictures that are presented in this website and please take the time to view all of our inspirational pictures.

Inspirational movies

You can’t beat the feeling that comes from watching inspirational movies. Over your life time you will watch 100’s of movies and in some cases maybe 1000’s but every so often there comes along that one movie that sets it aside from all others.

There’s not a chance that I’m getting into a debate over this subject as movies to people are like music to people. Each taste is simply individual and not everyone can relate to the same taste.

After all it would be a boring and dull world if everyone did think and feel the same.

Some people are romantics and will die by the fact that ‘Gone with the wind’ as being the most inspirational movie. Others are action buffs and will swear that ‘Die Hard’ is the most inspirational movie ever made.

My own favorite is ‘Shawshank Redemption’ written by Steven King and directed into a movie by …………….

Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins are electric in this classic film.

If you haven’t watched this film then I strongly urge you to do so as it will be an unforgettable experience. The film deals with all levels of human emotion from cruelty to hate, passion and love. It has some very clever twists and is an amazing tale of mans capability to survive in extreme conditions.

I guarantee you’ll love it and if you don’t…….well like I said, ‘each to their own’.

We have many movies listed within this page. We only hope that you find your own inspirational movie.

Famous movie quotes

Nobody puts baby in a corner.’ Dirty Dancing- Patrick Swayze (1987)

We all have our favourite famous movie quotes. Movie quotes are as iconic as the movies themselves or the actors that star in them.

Take the movie quote above. This quote is a true classic and since the release of ‘Dirty Dancing’ way back in the 80’s those immortal words have been silently mouthed by ‘Dirty Dancing’ fans the world over.

So what is it about these movie quotes that makes them so memorable?

Speaking from personal experience, I tend to watch movies for the sake of escapism.

Movies have the magical ability to transport your mind to another dimension and in some cases, a much more attractive dimension.

In movies anything can happen and everything does. You want action you’ve got it, fantasy no problem, love and romance then just flick a switch and let the motion begin.

For ninety minutes you can be anyone and you can do anything. You can believe in miracles, win wars, overcome tyrants and marry princesses.

It all happens at the movies.

This is the reason for such memorable quotations. Movies capture the imagination and leave a lasting effect within our minds. Famous movie quotations enable us to re-live this euphoric feeling through the magic of the words that are recited from our favourite films.

Take the famous words of Patrick Swayze and relive the moment when you first heard those words.

‘Nobody puts baby in the corner’

Practically every sleep over for the past twenty years has involved the viewing of this infamous film. When heard again by grown women, this famous movie quote undoubtedly incites wonderful memories of adolescent life where there was little responsibility and heaps of magical fun filled moments.

There is a point in time that everyone would love to relive.

Movies have the power to take you back to that moment almost as if you were living in that time again.

Enjoy the quotations that we have collated together.

Remember with fondness those times in summers past spent with friends that you may or may not know any longer.

Forrest Gump: A bullet?
Man at Bench: That jumped up and bit you.

Forrest Gump: Lieutenant Dan, what are you doing here?
Lieutenant Dan: I’m here to try out my sea legs.
Forrest Gump: But you ain’t got no legs, Lieutenant Dan.

Dead Poets Society (1989)

John Keating: We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, “O me! O life!… of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless–of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here – that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse.” That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

Keating: Sucking all the marrow out of life doesn’t mean choking on the bone.

Daulton : (answering phone) Welton Academy, hello? … Yes he is, hold on. Mr. Nolan, it’s for you. (holds up phone) It’s God. He says we should have girls at Welton.

John Keating :  Why do we need language?
Neil Perry :  To communicate…
John Keating : Nooo!! To woo women!

Keating: No matter what anybody tells you, words & ideas can change the world.

Keating: Now I’d like you to step forward over here. They’re not that different from you, are they? Same haircuts. Full of hormones, just like you. Invincible, just like you feel. The world is their oyster. They believe they’re destined for great things, just like many of you, their eyes are full of hope, just like you. Did they wait until it was too late to make from their lives even one iota of what they were capable? Because, you see gentlemen, these boys are now fertilizing daffodils. But if you listen real close, you can hear them whisper their legacy to you. Go on, lean in. Listen, you hear it? — Carpe — hear it? — Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.

Famous Love Quotes

Famous Love Poems

Famous love poems

There isn’t a romantic on Earth who hasn’t pondered on the melodic verse of a famous love poem. Whether they are centuries old and written by the most famous of bards, or written just yesterday, famous love poems always manage to serve the narrator in a magical fashion.

Love poems are a natural bi-product of that most sacred of emotions, and they have managed to hold even the coldest of hearts spellbound in their enchanted grip.

What is it about these poems that make such an iconic gesture to those that we love?

Although emotion manages to convey powerful feelings this often crumbles before the power of words. Emotion can only be felt by the receiver of these feelings yet words can still be felt thousands of years beyond the poet’s life time.

Once committed onto paper the love poem can be shared by many and idealistic minds can share in the beauty of the poet’s undying love for another.

Today’s popular love poems are often spoke through the power of music and words combined, sung by infamous pop and rock artists that have millions following in their wake. In essence this fascination is not much different to the reverence that was once held for famous poets such as Shakespeare etc.

Fact has it that stories of love inspire people. They manage to grip our imagination and transport us to other times and other worlds.

Without love poems or love songs we wouldn’t be able to express ourselves in such a creative manner.

Thankfully famous love poems are here to stay and may there influence carry on inspiring people for centuries more.

For people in love try famous love poems.

Lets start with the very most famous and unique love poet of all times, Shakespear. Shakespear was born in 1564 and quite remarkably is still a much loved and respected poet that has transcended the ages through the power of mind and pen. Most notibly, Shakespear was also a very respected poet and playwright of his day and could enthrall audiances then and now.

Shall I compare thee to a summers day?

William Shakespeare

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day ?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st;
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

O Mistress Mine

William Shakespeare

O Mistress mine, where are you roaming?
O, stay and hear; your true love’s coming,
That can sing both high and low:
Trip no further, pretty sweeting;
Journeys end in lovers meeting,
Every wise man’s son doth know.
What is love? ‘Tis not hereafter;
Present mirth hath present laughter;
What’s to come is still unsure:
In delay there lies not plenty;
Then, come kiss me, sweet and twenty,
Youth’s a stuff will not endure.

My Mistress’ eyes

William Shakespeare

My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun
Coral is far more red than her lips’ red,
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun,
If hairs be wires, black wires grow upon her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks,
And in some perfumes is there more delight,
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak: yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound,
I grant I never saw a goddess go,
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground,
And yet by heaven, I think my love as rare,
As any she belied with false compare.

Tell her that’s young

William Shakespeare

Tell her that’s young,
And shuns to have her graces spied,
That hadst thou sprung,
In deserts where no men abide,
Thou must have uncommended died
Small is the worth,
Of beauty from the light retired,
Bid her come forth,
Suffer herself to be desired,
And not to blush so to be admired.
Then die – that she,
The common fate of all things rare,
May read in thee,
How small a part of time they share,
That are so wondrous sweet and fair !

Love

By William Shakespeare

TELL me where is Fancy bred,
Or in the heart or in the head?
How begot, how nourished?
Reply, reply.
It is engender’d in the eyes,
With gazing fed; and Fancy dies
In the cradle where it lies.
Let us all ring Fancy’s knell:
I’ll begin it,–Ding, dong, bell.
All. Ding, dong, bell.

Take, O Take

By William Shakespeare

TAKE, O take those lips away

That so sweetly were forsworn,

And those eyes, the break of day,

Lights that do mislead the morn:

But my kisses bring again,

Bring again—

Seals of love, but seal’d in vain,

Seal’d in vain!

Love Sonnet 1

From fairest creatures we desire increase,

That thereby beauty’s rose might never die,

But as the riper should by time decease,

His tender heir might bear his memory:

But thou contracted to thine own bright eyes,

Feed’st thy light’s flame with self-substantial fuel,

Making a famine where abundance lies,

Thy self thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel:

Thou that art now the world’s fresh ornament,

And only herald to the gaudy spring,

Within thine own bud buriest thy content,

And, tender churl, mak’st waste in niggarding:

Pity the world, or else this glutton be,

To eat the world’s due, by the grave and thee.

Love Sonnet 2

When forty winters shall besiege thy brow

And dig deep trenches in thy beauty’s field,

Thy youth’s proud livery, so gaz’d on now,

Will be a tatter’d weed, of small worth held:

Then being ask’d, where all thy beauty lies,

Where all the treasure of thy lusty days,

To say, within thine own deep-sunken eyes,

Were an all-eating shame and thriftless praise.

How much more praise deserv’d thy beauty’s use,

If thou couldst answer ‘This fair child of mine

Shall sum my count, and make my old excuse,’

Proving his beauty by succession thine!

This were to be new made when thou art old,

And see thy blood warm when thou feel’st it cold.

Love Sonnet 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate:

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimm’d;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d;

But thy eternal summer shall not fade

Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;

Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade,

When in eternal lines to time thou growest:

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,

So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

Love Sonnet 29

When, in disgrace with fortune and men’s eyes,

I all alone beweep my outcast state

And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries

And look upon myself and curse my fate,

Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,

Featur’d like him, like him with friends possess’d,

Desiring this man’s art and that man’s scope,

With what I most enjoy contented least;

Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,

Haply I think on thee, and then my state,

Like to the lark at break of day arising

From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven’s gate;

For thy sweet love remember’d such wealth brings

That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

Love Sonnet 40

Take all my loves, my love, yea, take them all;

What hast thou then more than thou hadst before?

No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call;

All mine was thine before thou hadst this more.

Then if for my love thou my love receivest,

I cannot blame thee for my love thou usest;

But yet be blamed, if thou thyself deceivest

By wilful taste of what thyself refusest.

I do forgive thy robbery, gentle thief,

Although thou steal thee all my poverty;

And yet, love knows, it is a greater grief

To bear love’s wrong than hate’s known injury.

Lascivious grace, in whom all ill well shows,

Kill me with spites; yet we must not be foes.

Love Sonnet 44

If the dull substance of my flesh were thought,

Injurious distance should not stop my way.

For then, despite of space, I would be brought

From limits far remote where thou dost stay.

No matter then although my foot did stand

Upon the farthest earth removed from thee.

For nimble thought can jump both sea and land

As soon as think the place where he would be.

But, ah, thought kills me, that I am not thought,

To leap large length of miles when thou art gone,

But that, so much of earth and water wrought,

I must attend times leisure with my moan,

Receiving naught by elements so slow

But heavy tears, badges of either’s woe.

Love Sonnet 55

Not marble, nor the gilded monuments

Of princes, shall outlive this powerful rhyme;

But you shall shine more bright in these contents

Than unswept stone, besmear’d with sluttish time.

When wasteful war shall statues overturn,

And broils root out the work of masonry,

Nor Mars his sword nor war’s quick fire shall burn

The living record of your memory.

‘Gainst death and all oblivious enmity

Shall you pace forth; your praise shall still find room,

Even in the eyes of all posterity

That wear this world out to the ending doom.

So, till the judgment that yourself arise,

You live in this, and dwell in lovers’ eyes.

Love Sonnet 63

Against my love shall be as I am now,

With Time’s injurious hand crush’d and o’erworn;

When hours have drain’d his blood and fill’d his brow

With lines and wrinkles; when his youthful morn

Hath travelled on to age’s steepy night;

And all those beauties whereof now he’s king

Are vanishing, or vanished out of sight,

Stealing away the treasure of his spring;

For such a time do I now fortify

Against confounding age’s cruel knife,

That he shall never cut from memory

My sweet love’s beauty, though my lover’s life:

His beauty shall in these black lines be seen,

And they shall live, and he in them still green.

Love Sonnet 105

Let not my love be called idolatry,

Nor my beloved as an idol show,

Since all alike my songs and praises be

To one, of one, still such, and ever so.

Kind is my love to-day, to-morrow kind,

Still constant in a wondrous excellence;

Therefore my verse to constancy confined,

One thing expressing, leaves out difference.

Fair, kind, and true, is all my argument,

Fair, kind, and true, varying to other words;

And in this change is my invention spent,

Three themes in one, which wondrous scope affords.

Fair, kind, and true, have often lived alone,

Which three till now, never kept seat in one.

Love Sonnet 109

O, never say that I was false of heart,

Though absence seemed my flame to qualify.

As easy might I from my self depart

As from my soul which in thy breast doth lie.

That is my home of love; if I have ranged,

Like him that travels I return again,

Just to the time, not with the time exchanged,

So that myself bring water for my stain.

Never believe though in my nature reigned

All frailties that besiege all kinds of blood,

That it could so preposterously be stained

To leave for nothing all thy sum of good;

For nothing this wide universe I call

Save thou, my rose, in it thou art my all

Love Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments; love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove:

O, no, it is an ever-fixèd mark,

That looks on tempests and is never shaken;

It is the star to every wand’ring bark,

Whose worth’s unknown, although his heighth be taken.

Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks

Within his bending sickle’s compass come;

Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,

But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

If this be error and upon me proved,

I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Love Sonnet 130

My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun;

Coral is far more red than her lips’ red;

If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;

If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.

I have seen roses damasked, red and white,

But no such roses see I in her cheeks;

And in some perfumes is there more delight

Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.

I love to hear her speak, yet well I know

That music hath a far more pleasing sound;

I grant I never saw a goddess go;

My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground.

And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare

As any she belied with false compare.

Love Sonnet 138

When my love swears that she is made of truth,

I do believe her though I know she lies,

That she might think me some untutored youth,

Unlearned in the world’s false subtleties.

Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young,

Although she knows my days are past the best,

Simply I credit her false-speaking tongue:

On both sides thus is simple truth suppressed:

But wherefore says she not she is unjust?

And wherefore say not I that I am old?

O! love’s best habit is in seeming trust,

And age in love, loves not to have years told:

Therefore I lie with her, and she with…

Love Sonnet 147

My love is as a fever, longing still

For that which longer nurseth the disease,

Feeding on that which doth preserve the ill,

Th’ uncertain sickly appetite to please.

My reason, the physician to my love,

Angry that his prescriptions are not kept,

Hath left me, and I desperate now approve

Desire is death, which physic did except.

Past cure I am, now reason is past care,

And frantic-mad with evermore unrest;

My thoughts and my discourse as mad men’s are,

At random from the truth vainly expressed.

For I have sworn thee fair, and thought thee bright,

Who art as black as hell, as dark as night.

Love Sonnet 148

O ME! what eyes hath love put in my head,

Which have no correspondence with true sight:

Or if they have, where is my judgment fled

That censures falsely what they see aright?

If that be fair whereon my false eyes dote,

What means the world to say it is not so?

If it be not, then love doth well denote

Love’s eye is not so true as all men’s: No,

How can it? O how can love’s eye be true,

That is so vex’d with watching and with tears?

No marvel then though I mistake my view:

The sun itself sees not till heaven clears.

O cunning Love! with tears thou keep’st me blind,

Lest eyes well-seeing thy foul faults should find!

Love Sonnet 153

Cupid laid by his brand, and fell asleep:

A maid of Dian’s this advantage found,

And his love-kindling fire did quickly steep

In a cold valley-fountain of that ground;

Which borrow’d from this holy fire of Love

A dateless lively heat, still to endure,

And grew a seething bath, which yet men prove

Against strange maladies a sovereign cure.

But at my mistress’ eye Love’s brand new-fired,

The boy for trial needs would touch my breast;

I, sick withal, the help of bath desired,

And thither hied, a sad distemper’d guest,

But found no cure: the bath for my help lies

Where Cupid got new fire–my mistress’ eyes.

Love Sonnet 154

The little Love-god lying once asleep

Laid by his side his heart-inflaming brand,

Whilst many nymphs that vow’d chaste life to keep

Came tripping by; but in her maiden hand

The fairest votary took up that fire

Which many legions of true hearts had warm’d;

And so the general of hot desire

Was sleeping by a virgin hand disarm’d.

This brand she quenched in a cool well by,

Which from Love’s fire took heat perpetual,

Growing a bath and healthful remedy

For men diseased; but I, my mistress’ thrall,

Came there for cure, and this by that I prove,

Love’s fire heats water, water cools not love.

So you wish to conquer in the Olympic games, my friend? And I too, by the Gods, and a fine thing it would be. But first mark the conditions and the consequences, and then set to work. You will have to put yourself under discipline; to eat by rule, to avoid cakes and sweetmeats; to take exercise at the appointed hour whether you like it or no, in cold and heat; to abstain from cold drinks and from wine at your will; in a word, to give yourself over to the trainer as to a physician.
